Raid Setup

Welcome to Raiding my friends. This is a watered down guideline on what to expect on Raid Day.
1) First off, be fully prepared for a long run.
Everyone must be fully repaired and have all your classes regents, pots and bandages*. Also bear in mind, Raids take HOURS to complete. If you can not devote a few hours minimum plz let an officer know.
(If you are repaired and you have your regents then move on to step 2.)
*first-aid needs to be high, if not maxed.
2) Do you homework.
We run with CT_Raid AND Ventrilo. CT_Raid will be required for all raids, but Vent is recommended. If you do not have a mic you can listen in. Also download any movies or @ least read the rundown on the bosses we plan to target. Knowing is half the battle! ... {read on}

New Guild Alliance

What is Union?
Union is the name of the common channel that three guilds have chosen to use in order to raid together. Each of the guilds by ourselves has to use pickup groups for running Strat, Scholo, and Blackrock Spire. Officers and GMs from Reverant, agamerslife, and Invaders have formed an alliance between each other in the hopes of eliminating some of the junk that people have to go through in order to attain their loot from raiding. When you login type /join Union and look for people on that channel wanting to group up for some runs or send out your own LFG and gather up some help from the other guilds. We have already run Scholo and Strat successfully with members from both guilds and are very pleased with the teamwork and the results. Hopefully this alliance will form a strong bond between these three guild all the way into ZG, MC and BWL. Talks of a merger have been put on hold. The officers and GM of agamerslife believes all members of each guild should work together for a while and make sure that the chemistry is right before even thinking about dropping our tag for something else.

UBRS, LBRS, DM, WTF?
Category: Game: World of Warcraft Scribed by Justin

What the hell are all these letters? And why do i keep getting tells from strangers about them? Well my friends those letters are the big 4. They include: Lbrs - Lower blackrock spire / UBRS - Upper blackrock spire, Strat - living / undead Stratholm, Scholomance, and DM - Dire Maul. These instances are home to most everyone after lvl 56. Inside are the blue (tier 0) set gear for every class. They range from BoE bracers that could potentially drop off the first random mob @ the door, to the chest piece that only drops off the end boss of UBRS. For most guilds this is the end of the line. For us though it will be a chance to implement the raiding we have been doing since RFK back @ lvl 30. If we raid these as a guild, loot (as always) will be fair; if you want to pug it early, be prepared for a few hours of work for very little to show for it. And for some reason pugs are always lead by some limp dick that doesn't know what is going on and 5 minutes into it a hunt's pet wipes the group. Below is a rundown on what to expect:
LBRS is the lower part of Blackrock Spire. It is easily 10 manned but will have to be 5 manned to earn the key to UBRS and to do the "The Warlords Command" part of the Ony attunement chain. Also the bottom boss of LBRS starts a quest that will give you a excellent trinket that most ppl never replace and is role specific.
Strat is a 2 part instance. The first is Living and will resemble SM to a great extent. This is where you fight the higher lvl Scarlet Crusade and where Righteous Orbs drop for end game enchants. Undead is the second part of Strat. And as the name suggests is chalked full of Undead. This will be a 10 man instance and will be a tough 5 man for the end of the Arge... {read on}

No more trips to the candy store

Serious news today kids. Flags should he held @ half mast. My Grandfather, one of the strongest men I have ever met, died today.
Pop was the only real grandfather I had. (My other passed before I was too young to remember.) He used to take me and my little brother to the candy store down the street. I got things like candy cigarettes, big chew gum, and fun dip. I grew up hearing about him helping other family members out with there money problems, when it was obvious that he didn’t have much. And what he had he earned with his 2 hands. My granddad built houses from scratch for a living.
I once saw a brick wall fall on my Pop @ a job once. He still finished the job. I’ve seen him so sick he threw up over the side of a ladder and continued to work. And in all my memories, I never remember him without silver hair.
In his younger days he fought in World War 2. He earned a purple heart and was a PoW. His stories were always good. And I’m not going to hear another one.
I also read that Chris Penn died as well. (Nice Guy Eddie in Reservoir Dogs). I doubt I’ll remember that though. I will remember where I was sitting and who called me when I heard the news. Just like I remember where I was sitting and what I was doing when my grandmother died around 20 years ago.
Boyd Bradberry, if they have the internet where you are now, I want you to know that I love you. And that you will be sor... {read on}

Agamerslife guild CoC

Welcome to agamerslife guild!
We specialize in instance runs and solid guild progression with a bit of PvP for good measure.
Below is a list of loose guidelines and strict instance rules that have been discussed and voted upon by guild officers. These govern our guild runs, and will be voted upon and changed as needed.
First off i want to state that I and other officers don't give 2 shits on what you do in your personal time. I hope you play however makes you happy. (If you want to roll a Warrior in STV wearing all cloth and no weapon, have @ it.) I hope you have fun!
These GUIDELINES ARE IN PLACE ONLY DURING GUILD RUNS. btw a guild run takes place when all members of the group are in the guild, and an officer is leading. This also applies to try-out runs.
A few guidelines:
1) Blue BoE's and recipes/patterns are to be sent to the bank (agamersbank) to be distributed. This insures the proper person gets the gear that BEST suits his/her role in the guild.
a) Need rolls will be allowed if the person can equip AND use the item @ that time. (Need rolls are NOT to be used for Alts.)

How i play my frostmage

How to play the Mage Class Effectively in a Party and PvP situation-Frost Point of View.
Ok, anyone ive come across will tell you, i HATE being told how to play my toon. But i was asked to do this write up, so here i am, telling you what i do to be the best frostmage i can.
Party role- Creature control/DPS. Ok, so you might not make #1 damage, but who gives a shit. If your joining a party just to score high on the Damage meter, GTFO and reroll rogue. seriously. You have polymorph, frost nova and Remove lesser curse for a reason man. Anytime you see mobs making a dash for the healer, cut in front of them, throw a quick frost nova, pray it hits, and watch the tank do what he does best.
Crowd Control-Sheeping-Sheeping humanoids to pull a group does kinda suck, since we wear cloth, but if you have a good tank, you wont take much damage, if any. If you find the mobs getting too close for comfort, Frostnova, back up, throw up Ice Barrier (if you have it) and wait for the hefty dude in plate to come save the day.
Crowd Control-Counterspell-This is an AWESOME pulling technique against caster mobs. With Improved counterspell, not only do they stop what they are casting (if you already grabbed agro) but they can't cast spells again for 4 seconds. Plenty of time for a warrior to run in, drop a taunt, get some agro, then you can start DPSing away. Always, ALWAYS give the tank time to gain agro before you start blasting off instant casts and High damage spells. If not, you'll find yourself looking at the Release button more often then you'll like. Anytime you see a mob beginning to cast healing spells, big damamge spells or some kind of party Crowd control, pop a counterspell. Its got a 30sec cooldown though, so be wary of when you use it, use it wisely, win the fight, split the loot :)
Decurse- Ok, LOTS of mages know how to do this, so I'm not going to bore you here too much. A great mod to help with this is decursive. G... {read on}

How to get Keyed for Onxyia
Category: Game: World of Warcraft Scribed by Agaska

Please note that these quests are extremely difficult, and should not be attempted until your character is level 60. More importantly, the majority of these quests cannot be raided. You should still group as much as possible, but within the confines of a standard group.
The Alliance Key Chain Step 1: Talk to Helendis Riverhorn http://www.thottbot.com/?n=6404 Helendis Riverhorn begins the Alliance Key Chain. He is a Night Elf NPC in Morgan's Vigil, in the northwest corner of Burning Steppes.
Step 2: Dragonkin Menace http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1237 Helendis will give you a quest requiring you to kill 15 Black Broodlings, 10 Black Dragonspawn, 4 Black Wyrmkin and 1 Black Drake. They can be found all around Burning Steppes, so just start killing stuff and you'll finish quickly. Return to Helendis when you have finished.
Step 3: The True Masters, Part 1 http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1232 Helendis will give you a letter, which you must deliver to Magistrate Solomon in Lakeshire Townhall, which is in Redridge.
Step 4: The True Masters, Part 2 http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1227 Magistrate Solomon will give you another letter, which you must deliver to Highlord Bolvar Fordragon in Stormwind Keep.
Step 5: The True Masters, Part 3 http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1229 Bolvar will give you another letter, which you must delivery to Magistrate Solomon back in Redridge.
Step 6: The True Masters, Part 4 http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1228 Magistrate Solomon will now send you to Marshall Maxwell, who is back in Morgan's Vigil in Burning Steppes where Helendis is.
Step 7: Marshal Windsor ... {read on}

More ways to get on my ignore list...
Category: Game: World of Warcraft Scribed by Justin
on 8/30/2005:
|
I play a lot of WoW. I play for massive amounts of time over the weekends. Unfortunately so do children. I had a few pick-up groups (pugs) this weekend so naturally I had to add to my ignore list. (Plz note that some of this may be hypocritical and elitist.) I was invited into a pug for Upper BlackRock Spire (URS). The invite came from a fellow Pantheon, and someone I've been known to party with before. I'm on a few ppl's friends list and serve as their default Warlock when they need one in a party. I'm on their list not because they are on mine, but rather they know I get the job done more proficiently than a random pick-up would. So here I am, in UBRS, the hardest instance that most toons will ever see. I am accompanied by 2 fellow Pantheons in a full 15 man raid. This is when my ignore list grows. First off when you out number the enemy 15 to 3 there is no need to sheep all but one mob. If you do you crowd control on every mob you will travel at a snail's pace. This was by far one of the slowest moving parties I have ever seen. I have been to UBRS; I have been there a few times. I have been there so many times that I have all the loot I will ever need from there. Not only that, I have upgraded most of that loot since then. I'm currently working on my epic set; not the blue one. In a nutshell if you have the aid of a seasoned toon, don't waste his/her time. They will be less likely to help you out again. After we finished the Beast, the Pantheons were called to do a guild run, so we lost my fellow guildies. Sad as it was, we can continue with just 2 ppl down. On the very next mobs pulled though, we wiped. Wipes happen to the best of parties. Wipes happen more frequently in pugs than in guild/friends list runs, and I find it amusing that we wiped right after losing 2 elite ppl. What was not amusing though was the rez'er who was wearing the Soul Stone released rather than rez'ing after the mobs de-agro. This resulted in us having to walk back to our bodi... {read on}

The Frozen Throne Undead Hero Harrassment
Category: Game: Warcraft III & Expansions Scribed by Justin
on 8/9/2005:

|
War3 is all about the harass. If you can harass well, then you keep your enemy off balance and know EXACTLY what units he is making. Therefore you can easily counter him for the win. That is if the harass doesn`t make him quit outright. The Undead have some weak early game units and stronger heros than the other races of TFT. This normally means that the UD will not harass as often as say NE or Orc. But using the Death Knight you can pull this off quite well.
On the start of the game put your Acos on gold and the ghoul on lumber. Que up 2 Acos and drop a Crypt and an Alter. When the resources are available make a Zig. When the Crypt is done pump out a ghoul and an item shop. (It is very important that you drop your item shop before the Alter is completed.) Continue to make ghouls and drop another Zig. All the ghouls should be que`ed to lumber and the hero que`ed to run up to the item shop. A few seconds before the Death Knight is finished stop making units so that you have the 150 gold to buy a Rod of Necromancy (RoN). Once the hero is out and you have the rod you have 1 of 2 options:
(The first is for players with mid level skills and is a safer plan. I normally chose this because if done well against a lower skilled person can result in an instant win.)
Take your Death Knight and 2-3 ghouls directly to the opponent`s base killing a critter on the way. Use the RoN to make skeletons out of the critter. Place the ghouls in group 1 the skeletons in group 2 and the hero in group 3. Upon entering the base immediately Death Coil a peasant and send your skeletons then ghouls in after it. This target should be the farthest from the base either gathering lumber or building. Send in hero around the flank, but within coiling distance of your units. At this point the skeletons are expendable and the units and hero are not. After a few seconds the peasant will die so use your RoN to raise 2 more skeletons. Use the skeletons as meat to keep... {read on}
